The Strength of Principles Without Losing Yourself

PRINCIPLES & BALANCE

Choose principles over selfishness but don’t forget yourself either.

Being selfish can shrink you.

Being too idealistic can drain you.

The real strength is knowing how to care about others without losing yourself in the process.

You don’t have to choose between doing what’s right and looking after yourself.

When there’s a will, there’s a way…

Having principles sounds easy…until following them actually costs you something.

Sometimes doing the right thing means walking away from people, leaving a job, changing your environment…and sometimes even keeping your distance from certain religious circles or places.

The Prophet ﷺ showed us that standing for what’s right takes courage. The earliest example from the Seerah being when Nabi ﷺ chose faith over wealth, fame and women (how many of us have sold our morals for some worldly extra…)

At the end of the day, ask yourself:

“What kind of person do I want to be proud of?”

Because living only for yourself can leave you empty.

Living only for others can leave you exhausted.

Maturity is knowing how to hold both.

Did the Prophets ever submit to other than Allah?

When the Prophet ﷺ was told to stop preaching Tawheed and the Oneness of Allah…

“The Prophet ﷺ said that even if he was offered the sun in right hand and the moon in his left hand- he would never leave the path of Allah.”

The right path isn’t always the easy path. But when your heart is firm, Allah opens a way. 🤍
