- If a person is ill or excused (
mazoor) to the extent that he is unable to pray his full salahstanding up with complete rukuand sujood, then he should stand up for the duration or for the number of rakatshe has the power and strength to do so. Thereafter, when is unable to stand up, he should complete his salahsitting down with rukuand sujood
- If an ill person or excused person is such that he doesn’t have the strength to pray
salahstanding up, however, he is able to pray salahsitting down with complete rukuand sujood, then it is necessary for him to pray his salahsitting down on the ground with complete rukuand sujood. If such person prayed his salahon a chair, then his salahwill be invalid because he is able to perform sujoodcompletely, but on the chair, he will be missing it out and sajdahis a fardhact; salahis invalid by missing out a fardhact.
- If an
illor excused person is such who is unable to perform sujoodon the ground, however, he is able to pray his salahsitting down on the ground, the ruling for such person is that he will pray salahsitting down on the ground and perform sajdahby gestures. Such a person has an option of praying salahon the chair. But it is more preferable for him to pray salahsitting down on the ground as this is much closer to show servitude and that is more rewarding.
- The ill and excused person is such that he cannot pray his
salahsitting down on the ground, so then it is permissible for him to pray the full salahon a chair.
